Happy Independence Day

Hello peoples and all my readers…(all five of you). Hope you had a nice holiday today and hope you were not too intrigued or disturbed by some people waving a tricolor flag and all that. And in case you are wondering why these people were waving the tricolor flag, today was Independence Day. Today was the day our freedom fighters demanded and got us freedom.

Freedom fighter(FF): Nikal jao hindustan se!!!
Britisher: I say ‘ol chap, you trying to say something or wot?
FF (in English): I said "get lost!!!"
Britisher (shrugging): O.K...fair enough.

Me is been very busy and so have been unable to post besides I am going through a severe cash crunch as the bank has just returned my salary cheque for the nth time. Apparently, 'peanuts' is not an acceptable currency in India :p

Ciao folks, will post soon.

Jai hind!!!

Happy Independence Day!!! We celebrated in on 13th here in America (because it was sunday) Apparently India to US time difference is somewhere in the range of 18-21 hrs.

@fleiger:

Presently,

//EastCoast
India-US ET(Eastern Time) diffr: 9.5hrs

//Central
India-US CT(Central Time) diffr: 10.5hrs

//WestCoast
India-US PT(Pacific Time) diffr: 12.5hrs

The US has more TimeZones too. These 3 are the main ones. Add to that Daylight Savings Time(Mar-Oct) and u get some pretty complex times.

(Hehe..cudn't help it!My present project involves TV-Guide times.I'm learning to handle all this the hard and boring way- thru code)

Breaking News: Fin Min has agreed to replace 25p coins with peanuts (fully convertable) with immediate effect. Chidu expects the new currency titled pepee to be available at all nationalised banks before the end of the month. Sources close to the ministry say that this sudden policy shift is aimed at bringing the creamy peanut owners into the taxnet. Unconfirmed reports estimate the nut value..err..net peanut value of the peanut earners to be over 13 billion USD. Sources also said that the new "Forbes 100 Nuts" list is supposedly topped by a woman from the communications industry. This reporter predicts azure blue skies ahead for her!

What is going on? Your last posts have been about "getting married", "cuckoo" and now "nuts". All point in a single direction... I wonder if you are too much in contact with your manager, or (worse still) HR guys.

And just read your response to last post's comment: KANK is 3 1/2 hrs torture.

Happy independence day to you too. Hope you post something soon in your "independent" bindaas style.

This Independance Day was an eye-opener. Why for, you may say! You'll have to stop by my blog and see is what I say.

Noticed on your profile you read James Herriot. Ever try Terry Pratchett?

silverine said...

eclipsed thoughts: Thank you dear, that was such a sweet compliment :) Me love pani puri even though the pani sometimes squirts out of my nose :))

fleiger: No no no I am not that flipped brrrr Lemme check out this Gringotts branch...

g: Thank you for your comments on my other posts too :) Great to have you here. I saw that programme too and I remembered the answers *whew* I have read Terry Prattchet, I have put some of my fav authors only on my profile. That white gentleman in the saffron robes spoke impeccable English, couldnt make out his nationality though.

Fleiger said...

Do that... Easiest way actaully. Just make sure you know the conversion rates. And make sure your manager passes on enough (k)nuts to you.

So, third brick from left, and so on...

hmmm...peanuts -> maybe thaz the reason the ATM m/c has been hurling expletives at me wenever i press 'withdraw' ?

silverine said...

Fleiger: I will do that :)

Lost in trance: It must be the peanuts definitely :))

Was searching for Indepencence reated posts and found yours, I think you can increase your reader count by 1.

As for peanuts as salary, with poor peanut farming this year around the demand for peanuts has reached new heights, no wonder all MNC's are now paying peanuts!!! Maybe I can pay you peanuts via secure internet payment gateway for reading your blog if in future you make it paid ;)

Nice post :)

Chaos!
