Ratzinger

So Ratzinger is the new Pope. Well I was sort of hoping for a more liberal candidate.Hope he keeps the legacy of Pope John Paul alive.

"his papacy is sure to continue John Paul II's strongly traditional interpretation of the Catholic faith, including opposition to abortion, homosexuality, priestly marriage and women priests" --William Horsey, BBC correspondent.
liberal eh... you wish,

IT was the homily he made at the funeral proceedings and before the conclave started, that did the trick for him. Lucky Germans.

Yes, apparently CNN saw a viewership jump of 52% with their exclusive coverage of the Pope's final moments, death, funeral and re-election. That is an amazing TRP figure.Guess CNBC and ABC are kicking thenselves in the butt.

Well, what Ratzinger is going to do, is to be seen from what he will do. Catcholic belief is that the Holy Spirit works in the man who becomes a Pope making him an entirely different individual with changed priorities. Ratzinger is the old. With the Holy Spirit, he's Pope Benedict XVI. Let's see what happens.

Who told Ratzinger is a conservative guy, the media. You are from the communications, and you should know well how media concocts stories right. I believe that it was unfair to tag him as a Conservative guy before even he started his job. Definitely also depends on ur definition of liberal. If u mean liberal to be pardoning of all sins, and condescending on all the immoral behaviour, guess u might be right. If u want such a condescending church, u can always keep out of the so called Catholic church. Being in the Catholic church and the saying that its rules are archaic, does not make any sense. Church's role is not to condescend and allow for all the new sins that come into the world, buts role is to make its followers abide by the rules of morality. And mind you morality does not change with time , let it be 21st or 22nd century.
