He was a rare religious head who commanded a deep and unconditional love from his flock. The millions who thronged St Peter's Square that fateful weekend is standing testimony to his unifying powers as a religious head.
His refusal to compromise Church laws to suit the secularists won him many detractors and admirers. His fierce protectiveness for the unborn is an example of Christ's love for his flock. He is a standing testimony to the fact that Christian principles are ageless.
God bless Pope John Paul II !

Yeah, the pope actually and truly was a "good christian".
By the way, nice blog.
hmmm..
being a born again "atheist" i have to say the john paul wasnt all that as great as he is made out to be. In today's internet age (and yesterday's television age!) he made a striking figure, but thats about it!.
If he ever contributed anything it was due to his so called efforts at de-communisation in eastern europe. but even that i believe was a historical inevitability and his presence just happened to be at the right time at the right place.
i cannot believe that a person who blindly follows tradition can be called a good christain. jesus christ, never went by orthodoxy..he was willing to move with the times and often challenged the day's orthodoxy himself!
i mourn the 000's (or is it millions?) of avoidable aids deaths (due to the pope's and catholic church's continued opposition to condoms!). i am not even talking about his indifference to sex-abuse scandal in the catholic church
ofcourse he was a people's pope..if making more saints and visiting more countries than any other pope will make him that!. by this definition lallu is a good politician too..
history shall judge him as a slow mover who cost a couple of decades to catholic church!
