Double whammy!

28th March, 8:30 p.m to 9:30 p.m was WWF Earth Hour. Hope you all switched off the lights at 8:30 p.m like the millions of people around the world.

I was not able to... :(

We have power cut from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 pm you see. *sob*

Damn you K.E.B!!! X(

Have a nice weekend folks.

  1. Awesome. My folks were telling me the other day about the hype for this Earth Hour. All Indians pledge their allegiance to Mother Earth each day for an hour(unlucky one's more than that). So why should there be such a hype when the world finally took notice of Earth all lit up :). I guess things become cool when there are lot of city people doing things but are uncool when a layman suffers.

PS:Refreshing look to the blog :)

  2. We've earth hours here every 3 hrs. KSEB is very thoughtful when it comes to energy conservation.

  3. Hey, don't take it as a bad thing. In fact, KEB helped you take the right decision and supported the Earth Hour, so in a way, you very well did the RIGHT thing! :)

  7. if there is any award for energy conservation, the KSEB deserves it more than any other organisation. we have diff kinds of power cuts here.. the gov imposed one, and several other kinds during the course of the day, naturally occuring ones (thanks to the afforestation group) n so on.. ;)

  9. Abhi: I too found it ironic that we Indians were asked to participate. :) Glad to know you like the new look!

thomman: I think all our State Electricity Boards are doing a really good job for the environment! :|

Hari: I still feel cheated of my right! I may sue them for obstructing my right to participation in a good cause! :|
    :p

hitch writer: You are right. A country starving for power is asked to starve more! How ironic! :))

Rajlakshmi: Whats the point in taking initiatives that are already in place?

Amal Bose: All the Elec Boards are doing yeoman service towards this cause! :p

    Arvind Iyer: Nice post!

  12. I think we may suitably modify it to our context and call it 'Dearth hour' :|

    K.E.B = Kind Electricity Board, no? :|

  13. I am guessing that KEB is your states equivalent of our KSEB(Kerala State Electricity Board). If so, I understand your frustration - my own fight with the KSEB has been a long and difficult one...

  17. Ordinary guy: Yes, now I see the genuine reasons behind power cuts! :p

onethoughton: Thank you and welcome to my blog! :)

Karthik: "Dearth Hour" Good one!! We celebrate it everyday! :p

Binny: Yes I am referring to them wonly. They don't trouble us except for power cuts during summer!

Venkata: You sleep by 8:30? :-o You must save lots of power then! :)

fundoome: Drat! You are a bad girl like me ! :|

Deepti: Kudos! You people should be given an award!!! :p

  21. I ended up spending an hour in my hotel room in the dark. Thought I'd take a pic and send it to people, but decided later that that might be interpreted as a bit creepy...so detested...

  22. lol..if KEB is that bad, KSEB (Kerala) is the mother of all power-cuts and power woes.

btw, i proudly participated in Earth Hour '09.
